A summer tradition

Toledo Wooden Boat Show

One of Toledo’s summer highlights, the Wooden Boat Show brings together wooden boats displayed by their builders and owners, public boat rides, music, and a cardboard-boat building competition and lagoon race. YBYC members help introduce families to the water with rowboats, kayaks, and small sailboats.

Racing history

Bridge to Bridge

Bridge to Bridge ran from the mouth of the Columbia River to the mouth of the Yaquina River—a handicapped offshore course of just under 100 miles that often included overnight ocean racing.

The elapsed-time record was held by Grins at 10 hours and 45 minutes. Entry was limited to boats 24 feet or longer, with crews strongly encouraged to meet Pacific International Yachting Association offshore safety recommendations.

The race is no longer scheduled as a YBYC event. But it may be revived if another club chooses to sponsor it.
